With the past behind me, and my possible futures stretched out in front of me, I’m finding it difficult to remove myself from this harrowing infinite circle of problems that seemed to have started since I signed on. Impossible to find work you say, I say Nay..I’ve found work that interests me and turns my very own volume knob up to eleven so I can hear the sweet yet savoury offers of work before me but for some reason I’m shot down before I even get a chance to interview. A perfect portrait photographers job arrived, which seeing as I have REAL experience in the field with varied output, I thought I had a good chance of getting, but no..i was unsuccessful and the company have yet to give me a decent answer for why I was turned down forthwith.

That company I tell you now was ‘Venture Photography’ you know the ones, that seem to be doing a different angle on family/portrait photography by over saturating it with photoshop techniques and filters that any moron can learn in a day if they know the right menu to click. So after ranting for nearly a day, I gave up on the job, thinking that I don’t like their methods anyway so why should I worry that a bunch of no talent hacks don’t require my skills or more accurately i was thinking, fuck them.

On the good side of things, I’ve been getting more into gig photography, thanks to working as a reviewer on my mate rob’s website [link] Which actually allowed me to interview a fairly well known band, back in the day, called Will Haven, hence all the recent gig pictures I’ve been putting up here.

Add to that I’ve finally paid out for a hard-copy portfolio of my photography work, instead of relying so heavily on DA and people to actually be active enough to press a link in one of my e-mails, now I can take it around with me and show off the work I have been doing, in a modest way of course as I still think I have a long way to go until I become a decent photographer.

A new camera is also on the horizon, and I’m definitely sticking with buying a Nikon at the moment but if anyone feels the need to sway me or has any better suggestions, please let me know as all input is appreciated and one last thing, anyone (can you hear me at the back?) who want to model or be generally involved with any photography work and lives in Leicester, please get in touch as I’ve been finding awesome locations to do some series in and have plenty of ideas. Come on people! Join the creativity I have seemingly pulled from nowhere!
